From time to time, to accommodate an install or perform troubleshooting, we all need to temporarily shut down the Antivirus we are running. Csr harmony bluetooth software stack download.

Disabling System Center Endpoint Protection however is not a nice affair. You can either allow ALL users to turn it off or NO users to turn it off. This means that in any real company in which standard users are locked down, Administrators can not easily shut it down. I confirmed this with Microsoft Partner Support:

  1. There are several things you can do in order to uninstall SCCM Client. How to uninstall / remove SCCM Client. Ccmsetup of the installed client is located in: C: Windows ccmsetup ccmsetup.exe. Use the switch “/uninstall” to uninstall the client (from command line with elevated privileges): C: Windows ccmsetup ccmsetup.exe /uninstall.
  2. We’re not able to remove the old remote SQL Server. The Server still appears in the Site System Roles and if we try to remove the Site Database server role (remove is not greyed out) we received the error: “The server cannot be deleted because it contains the following roles:”.
  3. Software is installed without any issues. However, the uninstall button is greyed out. When removing one of the deployment types, the Uninstall button is not greyed out. The uninstall program is correct as it works when working only with one deployment type.

Based on my testing, I am afraid it was by design feature that we could either allow or disallow all client users to change Real Time Protection settings. As you mentioned, this settings were controlled by the Antimalware policies in SCCM console.

Can Endpoint be disabled by turning off the Service?

…I am afraid there was no such capability in SCEP that the service could be disabled according to the user roles…

Uninstall Is Grayed Out

…we can temporarily uninstall the SCEP for lab testing as a workaround…

If I refresh Software Center the Uninstall button is greyed out of that app. If I change the focus to another package in Software Center and then click on the first app again the Uninstall button comes back. I will put in a case with Microsoft to see if this is a bug with Software Center.

  1. Start SYSTEM CENTER CONFIGURATION MANAGER
  2. Expand ASSETS AND COMPLIANCE > OVERVIEW > ENDPOINT PROTECTOIN > ANTIMALWARE POLICIES
  3. Right click on the policy in question and select PROPERTIES
  4. Click REAL-TIME PROTECTION and change ALLOW USERS ON CLIENT COMPUTERS TO CONFIGURE REAL-TIME PROTECTION SETTINGS to YES
  5. Click OK and wait for the policy to replicate to your PC’s
